Blog Journal #6

I did not have a great initial experience with Diigo. Signing up was very confusing and the layout of the website was also a challenge. Something I do not like about Diigo is how outdated it kind of looks. The website does not look aesthetically pleasing and there are few tabs to navigate that are a little confusing. Something I like about Diigo is that it is another platform for people to communicate and connect which is always nice.

I have read books about blogging, and I have read other’s blogs, but I never did it myself until this class. I like that it is a way for people to share their ideas and experiences with others. I guess something I don't like about blogging is the fact that it can be so public. That one is more personal just because I'm more of a private person.

A web 2.0 tool that I would use when teaching is Pinterest. Pinterest is a social media platform that allows people to save and share ideas through pictures. There are all kinds of ideas on Pinterest from homestyle to outfit inspiration to ideas for outings or gifts. Students can use this as a creative outlet for certain assignments or a way to use the visual teaching style.

  1. I can definitely relate to your post. I also found Diigo confusing and felt that its layout looked outdated. Despite its drawbacks, it's great to hear that you appreciate the opportunity it provides for communication and connection. Regarding blogging, I understand your hesitation about its public nature, especially if you're more private.
