Blog Journal #8

I really enjoyed doing the Web Design assignment. I've never created a website before so it was a first for me and I had a lot of fun doing it. I don't have any artistic abilities but designing this website allowed me to be creative in a different way which was almost cathartic. As for design principles, I utilized the white space and proportion for photos or large pieces of text. I wouldn't say I disliked anything about this assignment, but if I had to pick something then I guess I would say it was very time consuming. In my future career I can use my new website designing skills for presentations, outlines, or personal projects.

I don't use AI tools on a daily basis. Since I last talked about AI, I've used it once to assist on an assignment and it wasn't very helpful. I mostly just find AI scary and reminds me of those robots taking over the world movies. I don't like how they are able to mimic human emotions now and I especially don't like how it is going to continue to advance. I don't have any questions about AI, I honestly just don't want to know because it freaks me out. 

Using ChatGPT wasn't too bad. I like that it is easy to use and accessible to everyone without some sort of payment. I also like that it will answer a question fully and in seconds. Although I had a good experience using ChatGPT, my feelings on AI haven't changed and I don't think it ever will. For my students I would probably express my concerns with it while also explaining that I personally am not a fan but I know that it can be useful to some. 

Personally, I don't think AI tools can enhance my productivity. If anything I feel like AI tools would make me less productive and I don't think I would actually learn anything ever again. I feel like AI has replaced a lot of learning and education. In my teaching job I think I would only learn more about it just because I know my students would be using it and I want to make sure I can educate them on AI for their safety and education.

    Your website was super cute! It was easy to follow. The color contrast was well-thought out, and I loved the purple theme! All of the pictures aligned well and I thought that your use of bullet-points were great! :)

    Your website was very nice! I likedn the amount of pictures you added to your wesbite, it made the whole thing very personable. I also liked the calendar you included!

    I love the website. It was very appealing and the color choices contrasted well. The formatting also flowed really well. Overall good job!

  I visited Millenia Elementary School’s class pages. They have one for every grade and I chose to look at the first-grade page. This page has the academic expectations of a first grader; what they should know before going into first grade, what they will know at the end of the year, what they will learn in each subject, and how to help the student at home. I think this is useful information for parents to have access to because it can help them prepare their child for the upcoming grade and make sure they are on track. I also really like the last section that highlights the ways parents can help their child at home with reading.   I started using twitter in 2021 and I don't think I actually learned anything from it, I just found it entertaining and funny. I found tweets relatable and a way to people to throw any random thought out there for others to relate to. I started using Instagram when I was in 5th grade (which I probably shouldn't have). Instagram isn't my favorite social media platform just because I find myself comparing my life to others’ and it just creates this false sense of reality. Blog Journal #2

     I did not really start using MS Word until college actually. Whenever we started to use word processing software in my K-12 experience, we only ever used to Google Docs just because it was easier to set up with our student emails and it automatically saves your work. I prefer Google Docs just because it is what I'm used to, but I don't mind using MS Word. My laptop already comes with it downloaded and set up for me, and I have it, so it also automatically saves my work, so either software is fine for me.      After looking at the website I was surprised to see how much information and advice it holds for educators, students, and other roles in the education field.
